Product information "Women in German history 1986 - 2003 - 39 postage stamps mint never hinged, Germany"
Very few portraits are likely to be generally known - but there are of course exceptions such as B. the tennis player Cilly Aussem on the 20 Pfg stamp or Queen Luise of Prussia on the 250 Pfg stamp. Particularly interesting are the four stamps from the years 2000 and 2001 with double nominal value in DM / € for the transition period at 100 Pfg./0.51 €, 110 Pfg./0.56 €, 220 Pfg./1.12 €, 300 Pfg./1.53 €. The conclusion was then made with the pure euro values of € 0.45, € 0.55, € 1.00 and € 1.44. The Deutschland-Spezial-Katalog rates a mint series today - incidentally the last postage stamps that were issued in high-quality intaglio printing - at an unbelievable 95, - €.
When in 1986 the first values of the new postage stamp series “Women of German History “Were presented, nobody suspected that the Deutsche Mark would be buried with this series. Incidentally, the complete set of these beautifully drawn portrait stamps comprised a total of 39 items with extremely successful and artistically high-quality portraits The postage stamps in this series show well-known artists such as Marlene Dietrich, Grethe Weiser or Hildegard Knef, but also Nobel Prize winners such as Bertha von Suttner or Nelly Sachs as well as women from the German high nobility such as Luise Henriette von Oranien, Electress of Brandenburg and Luise Queen of Prussia. Michel no. 1304-1305, 1331-1332, 1338, 1359, 1365-1366, 1390-1393, 1397, 1405, 1427-1428, 1432-1433, 1488-1489, 1497-1498, 1582, 1614, 1755-1756, 1939- 1940, 1955-1956, 2014, 2149-2150, 2158-2159, 2295-2297, 2305
