The stamp comes from an imperforated original sheet of 100 with the house order number "H2031.10", which comes from the archive of the Bundesdruckerei (former Reichsdruckerei in Berlin). In 1997 it was publicly auctioned.
This small, inconspicuous stamp depicting the SMS Hohenzollern is cataloged under the Michel number 33b U. It is an imperforate variety of 15 lighter, (lively) purple ultramarine. In the accompanying certificate, the responsible examiner - Mr. R.F. Tax - this is a stamp of absolutely perfect quality and extremely rare.
