The mint stamp block from Togo was issued on October 11, 2012. The block contains four stamps of 750 F. each. The stamps show the zoologist Thomas Bell and some turtles.

The British doctor and zoologist Thomas Bell lived from 1792 to 1880. In 1824 he founded the Zoological Journal , of which a total of 5 volumes had been published until 1835 . It was there that he published his first descriptions of new reptile species such as the three-lined hinge turtle and the marine iguana from the Galápagos Islands. With one originally laid out on 8 volumes, with 40 panels by James de Carle Sowerby and and Edwars Lear illustrated monograph From 1832 to 1836 he attempted all known living and extinct turtles in one work. In 1836 he became Professor of Zoology at King's College London, a position he held until his death.
