Product information "The Trabi, Volkswagen of the East - block of stamps mint never hinged, catalog no. 2412-2413, GDR"
This block of stamps from Germany documents the history of automobile construction in Zwickau - from the 24 hp Horch 8 touring car from 1911 to the Trabant 601 S Deluxe from 1978. The block, which the Michel catalog incomprehensibly describes as a miniature sheet, contains two Postage stamps and an ornamental field. It is the catalog no. 2412-13, catalog value € 2.50.
What the VW Beetle was for the West Germans, the Trabant was for the East Germans. Of course, the type 601 with its 26 hp two-cylinder two-stroke engine is particularly well known.
