Seals - block of stamps mint never hinged, catalog no. 4851, Maldives

A beautiful block of stamps - not only for animal lovers - was issued by the postal administration of the Maldives. It contains a postage stamp with a face value of Rf 60 that shows us a sea lion. New Zealand fur seals are clearly depicted on the edge of the block.
Seals live on sandbanks, islands, rocks and sometimes even on ice. They are mostly in coastal waters, where they hunt for fish. They can be found from the North Sea across the Atlantic and Pacific to southern Japan.
