British Antarctica is a British overseas territory in Antarctica.

It was claimed by Great Britain in 1908 and administered as a subsidiary of the Falkland Islands until 1962.

The UK claims to the territory are not recognized internationally. The political status is currently regulated by the Antarctic Treaty, which came into force in 1961.

The UK has two year-round research stations, Rothera and Halley, which also have post offices that use stamps specially issued for the BAT. Research stations in this area are also maintained by other nations. This area is otherwise uninhabited.
