During the varied history of Ukraine, which has become politically and postally independent since 1992, the area was also occupied by German troops during World War II. In the beginning, all German postage stamps and official stamps were valid. On November 14, 1941, however, a total of 20 overprint stamps with all important denomination levels from 1 to 80 pfennigs appeared. It concerns thereby the postage stamp series of the German Reichspost with black horizontal overprint of the new country designation "UKRAINE". Catalog no. 1-20
