Product information "Planes, Concorde - block mint never hinged, Togo"
On January 21, 1976, the first commercial flight of a Concorde took place. The block edition from Togo is dedicated to this supersonic aircraft. It contains a 3000 F stamp dedicated to Andre Turcat, the first Concorde pilot. Images and flight details can be found on the edge of the block.

Togo , located in West Africa, was a German colony until World War I. It was then under French administration. It is therefore not surprising that in Togo, of all places, this wonderful block of stamps was issued on the occasion of the first commercial flight of a Concorde. The supersonic passenger aircraft was operated from 1976 to 2003. In a flight time of only 3 to 3.5 hours, it connected Paris or London with New York. The operators were British Airways and Air France.

The stamp contained in the block shows the first Concorde pilot, Andre Turcat, and a Concorde 101.
