Louis Bleriot was born in Paris in 1872 and was a French air pioneer . On July 25, 1909, he was the first person to cross the 35-kilometer-long Canal in an airplane. Thus he was able to receive the cash prize advertised by the newspapers in the amount of 1,000 British pounds. From 1900 Louis Bleriot began building constructions. He worked with Gabriel Voisin. Together they designed various flying machines. However, there was no success. Since both had different views after a while, they stopped working together. Louis Bleriot continued to develop airplanes.
