Owls - block of stamps mint never hinged, Tonga

The plumage colouration of the Short-eared Owl is very variable, but straw and pale reed-brown basic colors are typical. But there are also specimens in warm brown and gray individuals with a very light, almost white underside and leg fletching.
For this species, the black rimmed eyes with the sulfur-yellow iris are very characteristic. The round head, usually without visible feather ears, as well as the clear longitudinal dots on the belly side are just as characteristic.
