Mount Rainier volcano - block of stamps imperforate mint never hinged, sheet 5, USA

On August 28, 1934, on the occasion of the great American stamp exhibition in Atlantic City, the US Postal Administration issued this block edition, containing six imperforated special stamps of 3 cents each from the "National Parks" series. It shows Mount Rainier in the background. The brand image shows the snow-capped summit, in the foreground the 80 m high giant sequoia trees and the "Mirror Lake".
The "Mount Rainier", which with a height of 4,392 m is one of the largest volcanoes in the world, is located in the national park of the same name in the state of Washington and is one of the so-called dormant volcanoes since it last erupted in 1854.
