The USA from a bird's eye view. With this wonderful small sheet of overprints, the US Postal Administration has come up with something very special, 15 stamps that show unique landscapes and natural phenomena from a bird's eye or space perspective. Some images come from NASA's "Landsat 7" satellite, others from amateur photographers, some of them taken from adventurous ultralight aircraft.
With a German Leica camera , for example, the fourth postage stamp in the first row was taken - the morning mist in the state of Utah. We like all the stamps, of course, but it is worth mentioning, among other things, the volcano "Mount St. Helens, with its crater and lunar landscape, also photographed from space, photographed 19 years after the strongest volcanic eruption of the 20th century. Next to it is a colorful geyser from Yellowstone National Park, a fascinating 71 degree warm hot water spring with a diameter of over 70 meters. In addition, a wonderfully natural river course, the suburbs of Las Vegas, a monumental crossing construction of American highways and a view of the historical turntable of the national steam locomotive museum and other, enormous natural spectacles of the American landscapes.
