Product information "Joint issue & quot; Highest and deepest post office in the world & quot; - First day cover, Israel / Nepa"
This joint issue bears both the postage stamp from Nepal and a pair of stamps from Israel as franking. The first day cover shows the two superlative geographic extremes, Mount Everest and the Dead Sea. But what is special are the two stamps. The postage stamp from Nepal was canceled in Namche Bazar, where the world's highest post office is located at 3,440 meters. The pair of stamps from Israel, on the other hand, is postmarked by the deepest post office in the world.
The joint issue of Israel and Nepal is exactly 9,290 meters apart. That is the difference between the highest mountain in the world, Mount Everest in Nepal at 8,848 meters, and the lowest point on earth, the Dead Sea in Israel, 442 meters below sea level.
