Product information "Industry and technology - 23 postage stamps mint never hinged, Germany"
The series “Industry and Technology”, published between 1975 and 1982, comprises a total of 23 postage stamps. All postage stamps were produced in the elaborate intaglio printing. They show "Made in Germany" high-tech products from German industry that we can still be proud of today. Catalog value 43, - €. Catalog no. 846 - 859, 990 - 994, 1134 - 1138.
These postage stamps show German high-tech products - starting with the electric locomotive, the helicopter, a partial equipment of the space shuttle via ocean shipping, the huge bucket wheel excavator for lignite mining, cooling towers one Nuclear power plant to the unforgettable “Transrapid” magnetic levitation train, which, to our great regret, was not implemented in Germany, but in Shanghai. The fact that our postage stamps are among the rarest postage stamps of their year despite their often large print runs is apparently a philatelic law of nature. The main reason is that many collectors ignore the inconspicuous postage stamps at the beginning, because you can buy them at face value for years anyway. However, these expenses often disappear "overnight" because they are replaced by another value or because the postage has been changed and the supposedly useless face value is no longer needed. Our number series from 1951 is a perfect example of this, but the more recent editions - especially the high face values - also follow this rule.
