Football World Cup - six special overprint stamps, Paraguay

Six special stamps with overprint, issued on the occasion of the 1990 Football World Cup in Italy on September 15, 1989. For this purpose, a series from 1982, published on the occasion of the Football World Cup in Spain in 1982, was provided with a two-tone overprint. Among other things, out of enthusiasm in Paraguay about the participation of their team in the earlier finals in 1930, 1950, 1958 and 1986. The stamps have the catalog number 4381-4386 with an upside-down print.

These six stamps with the soccer teams of Brazil, Chile, Honduras, Peru and Salvador were given a double metallic imprint depicting the World Cup . The official emblem of the Football World Cup in Italy 1990 and an inscription indicating that Paraguay will participate in the finals. From this edition from 1989 some sentences with inverted print became known only years after its publication.
