3rd South America trip LZ 127 1931 - catalog no. 137, Uruguayan zeppelin mail

A real flown envelope of the 3rd South American voyage of the airship LZ 127 "Graf Zeppelin", which took place from October 17th to 28th, 1931. This zeppelin mail is a receipt from the Uruguayan Post. The correct post route Montevideo - Friedrichshafen is documented by various stamps.

The postage

The Zeppelin Post, Delivery of Uruguayan Post , carries the green 30-cent airmail stamp as well as two postage stamps as postage. The stamps bear a clear machine stamp imprint of Montevideo dated October 15, 1931, as well as the purple special postmark of the Uruguayan Post.

The post

The arrival postmark from Friedrichshafen , dated October 28, 1931, shows that the post to Friedrichshafen was passed through correctly. The airship LZ 127 "Graf Zeppelin" took off on October 24 at 2:05 am Flight back to Germany (Friedrichshafen), where it landed safely on October 28th after a distance of 8,170 km.
