This folding box was released on April 8, 2011 for the anniversary "20 years of the KunstHaus Wien". The Austrian Post delivers this folding box in green. The folding box contains the original postage stamp as well as the silver postage stamp. The stamp shows the poster designed by Hundertwasser for the KunstHaus Wien. Catalog no. 2917
Friedensreich Hundertwasser created the poster in 1991 from a collage of the watercolor of the facade design and a photo of the realized facade. This poster was modified by Professor Adolf Tuma and made into a postage stamp. The stamp was engraved by Professor Wolfgang Seidel. It was he who Hundertwasser demanded that only he be allowed to do the engravings for a Hundertwasser postage stamp. We owe it to the two professors that a real Hundertwasser postage stamp was able to appear some time after the artist's death. The KunstHaus in Vienna is a museum designed by Friedensreich Hundertwasser and is located at Untere Weißgerberstraße 13 in Vienna's 3rd district, Landstraße.
The KunstHaus in Vienna has the world's only exhibition of the works of Friedensreich Hundertwasser. In addition, there are regular temporary exhibitions of works by other artists. The exhibition area is around 1600 m 2 . In order to realize the idea of a museum that is dedicated to Hundertwasser's art, but also suitable for temporary exhibitions, the buildings of the former Thonet furniture factory from 1892 were rebuilt.
