On May 3, 1990, a stamp was issued in the Federal Republic of Germany to mark the 100th birthday of Wilhelm Leuschner (1890-1944). The 100 (Pf) postage stamp shows a portrait of the union leader, politician and resistance fighter.
The postage stamp lacks a print run and thus the color black. You will receive the variant together with a comparison piece. Catalog no. 1466 F, mint never hinged, with certificate with photograph of the responsible association auditor.
The postage stamp for Wilhelm Leuschner was produced by Bundesdruckerei Berlin using a combined intaglio and offset printing.
Apparently a small number of sheets escaped the change from one printing process to another, the second printing cycle.
The variant only shows the offset printed background of the postage stamp, consisting of a clay plate, the darker tone of the jacket, the light tone of the shirt collar and the silhouette of the head.
The part of the stamp produced in intaglio printing, namely inscriptions, year, value number and above all the drawing of the head and the shading are completely missing.
