The first flight took place on October 5, 1912 and was flown in an Otto double-decker - a design by Gustav Otto, the son of the famous Nikolaus Otto, the inventor of the Otto (four-stroke) engine named after him . Our beautiful letter bears an individual stamp with the depiction of the Otto double-decker from 1912, matching the Munich special cancellation with a depiction of the same image - a fine document, in this form exclusively available from us, edition of only 500 copies.
The Bavarian Aero Club received the approval to set up air mail on the Munich – Schleissheim and Munich – Freising routes in 1912. -Bear air mail stamp. The first flight took place on October 5, 1912.
